Candidate Secures Husband's Endorsement

In case you haven't seen it, this week's Maplewood Review includes a heartfelt endorsement for candidate Rebecca Cave from her husband, George. It looks like the newspaper took care to preserve its original form, so as not to be accused of editing it in some biased fashion.

What the people of Maplewood really cannot afford is to pay for a City Administrator with NO EXPERIENCE. Hell, not even a real previous job. We know publicly what he and the other 3 have cost the City so far, what is unknown is how much their combined ineptitude will cost in the future.

We know this, after Mrs. Cave is gone next week, and big Greg is history in January, we will be paying for his 6 month severance package PLUS the fees to search for a new administrator Plus his/her salary.

Please don't squack about saving the City money when you are handing over $1,000's to the Mayor's buddy. For the same price, you could have gotten an administrator with proven leadership, who knew how to prepare a City budget, how to handle Human Resources correctly, how to process requests for public information, in short, how to do the job.

Once Cave and the gang of three are lame ducks, it will be interesting to see how much more of our tax money they give him as a parting gift. There is nothing like giving money to your friends, (especially when its not your money!)

Hopefully when Greg and :) and Becky are all sitting on the couch watching the City Council meetings this winter, Copelund will at least bring the wine. It is the least he can do.

Speaking of spending our tax money -- it's a new month, so I'm looking forward to the November city newsletter. No doubt we'll see it in our mailbox by this weekend, and it will -- like the last two -- be largely a campaign lit piece for Rebecca, printed and mailed at taxpayer expense.

Has anyone put the State Auditor on the newsletter mailing list?

    BWAH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
That is a stitch! Way to go, Greg. No one will guess you're too close to the candidate to have an unbiased position.

My favorite part is the notion that the Woodbury-South Maplewood Review is part of the liberal elite media establishment.

    Cheers on election night!
