Left with Lingering, and Unsettling, Questions
When I read this article about a mix-up in a movie theater, it somehow called to mind the first time I attended a Maplewood City Council meeting.

So many things to say about this one...
This is what I felt like after voting. The voting booth was me walking up and buying a ticket to The Last Mimzy. The council meetings are the Hills Have Eyes 2. The only difference is that the theater pulled the bad stuff after a short time. Our "theater managers" keep subjecting us to the same horrors over and over...

When I thought of the parallels to Maplewood, I just about fell out of my chair laughing.
The council majority all but promised to "discover a mysterious box of toys and become endowed with superhuman powers to help preserve humanity's future." What we've actually witnessed being born over the past year, on the other hand...

After the CityPages cover "... starts with a chained woman giving birth to a mutant." is just too much.
